BUILDING SKILLS FOR LIFE
Institute of Building Basic Life Skills founded in 2017, IBBLS is a nonprofit non-governmental dynamic and effective national student organization that helps young men and women become leaders and address important personal, family, work and societal issues through family and consumer sciences education.
Chapter projects focus on a variety of youth concerns, including marriage responsibilities, parenting, family relationships, substance abuse, environment, nutrition and fitness, teen violence and career exploration. Involvement in IBBLS offers members the opportunities to make a change their future, families, communities and develop skills for life—planning, goal setting, problem solving, decision making and interpersonal communication.

Working together to provide personal growth, leadership development, and career preparation opportunities for all members. Partners of IBBLS gain direct access to more than 20,000 highly motivated youth members and over 6500 Family and Consumer Sciences educators. Supporting IBBLS provides a platform for businesses, organizations, and colleges/universities to connect with top youth leaders that are making a positive impact in their communities and gaining skills in a variety of careers such as Early Childhood Education, Culinary Arts, Fashion Construction, Interior Design, Event Management, and Nutrition and Wellness.
